Day 1: Straight outta the box....

June 9, 2012 is a red-letter day for me.  It was the day that I bought my first DSLR camera, the Nikon D5100.  The date also marks the birth of my renewed obsession with photography.  I carry the camera everywhere.  Constantly, my eyes are looking for that perfect shot.  I have started a list of field trips that I want to go on, and a photo file of scenes and poses that I would like to try to recreate.  I want to learn everything that I can about Photoshop, and Lightroom.  I have looked into taking photography classes, and I have joined both the Triad Photography Meetup group, and the North Carolina Photography Group, to learn the craft from some local professional photographers.  I am so excited.

I have taken a number of photos in the past, many of which I am very proud of, however, the focus of this blog will be my journey into the realm of DSLR photography.
